Wave maker, or called aquarium wavemaker, is an important accessory in an aquatic tank, no meter freshwater or saltwater. We all know it can push the water away from it and make the water constantly move and circulate. But does it have a benefit to add oxygen to your tank?
The answer is yes.

For an aquarium tank, oxygen is important for the living, fish, shrimp, and snails. Except for the aquatic plants’ life release oxygen during photosynthesis, the only way of oxygen comes from is dissolved from the air. It is the worst condition when a water has no flow or circulation, the dissolved oxygen is reduced to the minimum.
To make matters worse, lots of algae respiration need more oxygen when decomposition.

The best and highest levels of dissolved oxygen happen when the water has fast flowing(turbulent). So this is one of the meanings of aquarium wave generator existence. The faster the wavemaker runs, the more oxygen the water has.

Another factor affecting dissolved oxygen includes temperature. Oxygen dissolves at higher levels in cold water. But that will be harmful to tropical fish and living.
We can also make an air tube in the gyre flow pump and connect it to an air pump. When the propeller running, they break the air into small bubbles and blow it into the body of water. This may be another better way for a high dissolving oxygen diffuser.
